Clarity is a system designed to support women approaching or experiencing menopause. It combines a mobile app and a portable tracking device to help users monitor symptoms, track emotions, and gain insights for a healthier life. The system aims to improve communication with healthcare providers, empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and manage menopause more proactively.

My role
Research and Ideation: Conducted extensive research with team members, including desktop and field studies, to identify user needs and develop product ideas tailored to menopausal women.
Storyboard Creation and Testing: Developed storyboards to visualize user interactions and workflows; conducted iterative tests to refine concepts based on feedback.
System Mapping: Created a comprehensive system map that outlined all the components of the product, illustrating the flow of information and user interactions.
App Design: Designed the information architecture and low-fidelity prototypes for the app, ensuring a logical structure and user-friendly navigation.
Product Testing: Actively participated in the product testing during showcase events, gathering user feedback to assess the effectiveness and impact of the product.
Post-Test Optimization: Engaged in the optimization process post-testing, making strategic adjustments to the product based on user feedback to enhance overall functionality and user satisfaction.
Conclusion
Through thoughtful research, user-centered design, and innovative development, we created Clarity, a solution that goes beyond simply tracking menopause symptoms. Clarity empowers women to take charge of their health by facilitating better communication with healthcare providers and offering valuable insights for proactive wellbeing. This project demonstrates our dedication to delivering impactful digital health solutions that enhance user experiences and address significant life transitions with empathy and precision.

Main Problem
Menopause is a turning point for most women in their late 40s to early 50s, which impact their daily life and behaviour. Unfortunately, many women are unprepared for this transition.
The significance of menopause in a woman's life is profound, both biologically and psychologically.
Only 4 in 10 Perimenopausal Women say a health care provider talked to them about what to expect in Menopause.
Most women are not informed on menopausal symptoms and what measures to take.
About 2 in 3 women say there is a general lack of support and understanding.

The colour of lights needs more consideration, according to colour scheme that remains consistent throughout the application

Feedforward: Click Instead of Press
Clicking seemed to be more intuitive and simpler than the long press to increase symptom intensity, which was associated with rebooting the device.
Future Improvements
Doctor’s Interface
Design and test the doctor’s interface to guarantee it’s functionality and that it fulfils the role of informing the doctor
Further Testing
Test the new versions of the device and app with the target audience, to ensure they’re effective and user friendly
